Support Jana Roerick's Ride to Conquer Cancer!

Jana Roerick, 48, hails from the small but big hearted Toronto Island. In 2002, Jana and her partner Marcus decided they loved island life so much they relocated their niche again to Salt Spring Island in beautiful British Columbia.

Owner and operator of Jana's Bake Shop and the Salt Spring Flour Mill, Jana and her partner Marcus Dowrich work tirelessly to create and produce fresh food and culinary ideas for local folks and visitors alike.

This year, taking a few days away from the shop, Jana has decided to participate in The Ride to Conquer Cancer in support of the BC Cancer Foundation.

The Ride to Conquer Cancer offered Jana the opportunity to challenge herself personally while supporting a world wide effort to end cancer, a devastating disease that affects us all in some way or another.

From the Website*
The Ride to Conquer Cancer is a unique, two-day cycling event to take place on June 19-20, 2010. During this bold cycling journey, you will ride for two days through the scenic Pacific Northwest! Our vision is clear - a world free from cancer. The money you raise for The Ride to Conquer Cancer will benefit BC Cancer Foundation and support leading clinicians, scientists, and researchers whose search for new discoveries and improved patient outcomes will have a real impact in our communities throughout the province, across Canada, and around the world. In other words, your participation will accelerate the conquest of cancer.

Jana Roerick is my mom and someone I really look up to for taking on a challenge like this. I would like to ask you for your support in her efforts to raise money for the Ride, the BCCF, and her challenge. Any amount is appreciated!

You can donate here or on my facebook page in the left column.

Thanks in advance for your support for my Mom and this cause!
